Artpic respects your privacy and is fully committed to protecting your personal information and using it in compliance with data privacy laws. This Data Policy applies to our websites including www.artpic.org, and our Artpic mobile applications (collectively, "Artpic").

When you sign up for or use Artpic you voluntarily share certain information you give us. This can include your name, email address, photos, comments, and the information in or about the content that you provide (e.g. metadata), such as the location of a photo or the date a file was created.

We collect device information from and about the computers, phones, tablets and other devices you use to access Artpic. Information we obtain includes device attributes (information such as operating system, hardware and software versions, browser type), network and connections (information such as language, time zone, IP address), your activities (information such as which areas of the website you visited, time spent on certain pages or features and other statistics), Cookie data (for more information about Cookies please visit our Cookies policy). This information we collect either directly or through third-party services such as Google Analytics. 

 

2. How do we use the information we collect?

 

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

• to Provide Artpic and its features to you

We use the information to operate our website and apps, to provide you with a seamless experience of all Artpic features and customer assistance.

• to make Artpic better

We use the information to develop, test, troubleshoot, improve our existing products and services and offer new features. We may conduct surveys and research, identify user trends, and test new features.

• for safety and security reasons, including to comply with our legal obligations

We use the information to verify accounts and activity, enhance our data security and fraud prevention capabilities, combat harmful conduct, maintain the integrity of Artpic, and comply with other safety and legal obligations. We may also get requests for account information from law enforcement authorities like the police or courts in which case we will have to respond.

We use the information to send you marketing communications, communicate with you about our products and services that may be of interest to you (like new releases and features), inform you about contests, events, and promotions, and let you know about our Policies and Terms. We also use your information to respond to you when you contact us. 

 

3. How do we share the information?

 

Sharing information with other users

The purpose of Artpic is to share art. When using Artpic, you create content in the form of posts, likes, and comments. Most of the information you create is shared and visible to other users.

• Public information 

This is the information that can and is supposed to be seen by other users. This includes your account, username, bio, your posts, likes, and comments you give to other posts.

• Private information

Private information is not shared and is only seen by users you choose. This includes messages.

Sharing information with service providers 

 

To run Artpic, we use third-party service providers that provide specific solutions for our infrastructure. Those service providers include website editor and hosting services, cloud and database services, development platforms, and web analytics services. In this section, you will find detailed information about the information collected.

Service providers for our Website

The processed information of the Website visitors includes:

• information about your device (device model, screen size/resolution, operating system),

• IP address,

• approximate location, 

• browser, 

• your activity (page visits, time spent on the website, content visited on the website),

• the email address (if provided),

• name (if provided), 

 

We also connected our website to Google Analytics. The information which is collected by Google Analytics includes:

•  first-party cookies, 

•  data related to the device/browser,

•  IP address,

•  on-site/app activities.

Service providers for our App

​

The processed information of the App users includes: 

​

• login information (password, email address),

• information about your device (operating systems, device model and type, unique device identifiers, CPU information, the graphics card type, amount of RAM present, current screen resolution, language, sensor flags),

• app information and your activity (first launches, app opens, app updates, in-app purchases, app-instance identifier, actions taken within the app, metadata about in-app communications, session duration),

• IP address, 

• location and country of installation (mapped from IP address).

 

Google AdMob: When using Artpic, you may be shown third-party ads. For showing ads, we use the Google AdMob program. The type of information collected through Google AdMob includes:

• your current and past location, 

• IP address,

• information about your computer or device,

• your app activity.

Sharing information with Law enforcement; legal requests and security

​

We may also share information with law enforcement or government agencies, in response to legal requests, or if we are legally obliged to do so. We will also disclose the information if we believe that disclosure is reasonably necessary for our protection or the protection of others, including to prevent or address fraud or security issues.

 

4. What is our legal basis for processing the information?

 

We collect, use, and share the information in the ways described above:

• as necessary to fulfill our Terms of Use

• consistent with your consent, which you may revoke at any time

• as necessary to comply with our legal obligations

• to protect your vital interests, or those of others

• as necessary in the public interest and

• as necessary for our legitimate interests unless those interests are overridden by your interests or fundamental rights and freedoms that require the protection of personal data.

 

5. How can you exercise your rights provided under the GDPR?

 

Under the General Data Protection Regulation, you have the right to access, rectify, port, and erase your information. You also have the right to object to and restrict certain processing of your information. This includes:

• the right to object to our processing of your information for direct marketing, which you can exercise either by using the "unsubscribe" link in such marketing communications or by contacting us directly.

 

6. How long do we keep the information? 

 

Generally, we keep the information as long as you use Artpic, especially as long as you have an account with us. When you delete your account, we delete the account itself and all the content from that account and we will not be able to restore your account or retrieve your information in the future.

In some cases, there might be reasons to keep some information even after your account deleted: that depends on things such as the nature of the information, why it is collected and processed, and relevant legal or operational retention needs.

Whatever the case of retention of the information, we keep it only so long as we need it to provide Artpic to you and fulfill the purposes described in this Policy. This is also the case for anyone that we share your information with and who carries out services on our behalf. When we no longer need to use your information and there is no need for us to keep it to comply with our legal or regulatory obligations, we will either remove it from our systems or depersonalize it so that we can't identify you.
